Inaugural Rooney?s Spring Golf Tournament
The Rooney’s Golf Foundation Inaugural Spring Golf Tournament Set for May 5, 2016 at Abacoa Golf Club
West Palm Beach, FL –The Rooney’s Golf Foundation Inaugural Spring Golf Tournament will be held at Abacoa Golf Club in Jupiter on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 8:30am. The day’s events will include an 18-hole scramble tournament with a shotgun start followed by an awards ceremony, luncheon and incredible raffles. Palm Beach Kennel Club and Rooney’s Beer Company will coordinate the tournament with a committee of RGF volunteers. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit FAU Honors College, Honor Flight Southeast Florida and Palm Beach County Police Athletic League.
“Each year we strive to make Rooney’s Golf Foundation Charity Golf Tournament a memorable event for our sponsors, players and most importantly our charities. Due to overwhelming demand for participation in our fall golf tournament we decided to create another great tournament, going back to where we began at Abacoa Golf Club in Jupiter, FL. With all things new we also have introduced two new charities to our list for this very special event: Southeast Florida Honor Flight and Palm Beach County Police Athletic League. We’re also including “old” favorite FAU Honors College. We hope you can join us for our inaugural spring tournament and help us raise money for these three amazing local charities,” said Alexis Barbish, RGF Executive Director.
The day begins with a 7am registration and breakfast and continues with an exciting shotgun start at 8:30am. Course contests include: closest to the pin, longest drive, team awards and a hole-in-one prize opportunity. Lunch and awards will follow golf and incredible raffle prizes will be awarded.

Rooney’s Golf Foundation has donated $614,462 to local Palm Beach County charities since 2001. These funds are raised through the golf tournament, 5K Run/Walk, poker tournament and luncheon events. The 15th Annual RGF fall tournament is scheduled for Monday, October 31, 2016 at Trump National Jupiter and the 3rd Annual “Overcomer” Luncheon with guest speaker Shonda Schilling will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the National Croquet Center.
